#FlyBoys Falter In Finale with George Mason, Fall 8-6

UD Still Wins The Series And Has A 6-3 A-10 Record

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team fell in the final game of its Atlantic 10 series against George Mason, 8-6, on Sunday, April 14 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

After two back-and-forth games to start the series, Sunday proved to be more of the same, as the two teams played another tight contest. Dayton jumped ahead early with a three-run third, but George Mason struck right back with a pair of runs to make it a one-run game.

The FlyBoys built a 6-3 lead after five, but the Patriots chipped away with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull to 6-5.

George Mason's decisive inning came in the eighth when it plated three runs to take the lead for good. Dayton brought the tying run to the plate two different times in the ninth, but was not able to break through.
