DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team fell behind early and never recovered on Tuesday afternoon, as Eastern Kentucky topped the Flyers in a high-scoring affair, 10-8 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

Even with the Flyers plating three in the first to take an early lead, EKU plated nine unanswered runs to take a commanding 9-3 lead after three innings. Dayton, however, would not go away quietly.

Junior
Mason Dobie injected some life into the Flyers in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run home run to bring UD within four.
In the fifth, sophomore
Alejandro Cazorla kept the scoring going for the FlyBoys by knocking an RBI double before eventually scoring on a wild pitch. Dobie brought in his third RBI of the game with a double in the sixth to pull the Flyers within one at 9-8.Â

EKU hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh and UD was never able to close the gap.

The Flyers finished with eight hits in the contest and reached base via free pass 11 times.
