Adair's Walk-Off Lifts #FlyBoys to Sweep of Davidson

Michael Adair's Two-Out, Two-Run Single Gave UD The 7-6 Win

DAYTON – Senior Michael Adair's two-out, two-run walk-off single lifted the University of Dayton baseball team to a 7-6 victory over Davidson to give the Flyers an Atlantic 10 sweep on Sunday at Day Air Ballpark.

The FlyBoys treated 4,312 fans to a thriller of a victory, improving to 28-15 on the season with a 10-4 mark in the A-10. Dayton enters May as the league's first-place team.

Dayton entered the ninth inning trailing by a run with the bottom of the order due up. Nolan Watson led off by reaching base via hit-by-pitch, and after an out, Alejandro Cazorla drew a walk. A fly out put the Flyers' backs against the wall, but Keagan Calero was plunked to load the bases.

Adair skyed a ball to left field, perfectly placed between the Wildcats' defenders, who lost the ball in the sun. Watson and Cazorla raced home to give UD the dramatic walk-off victory.

The game had plenty of fireworks, as Cazorla and Eddie Yamin IV both hit home runs to buoy the FlyBoys' offense early on, and Dayton was able to do just enough late to get the job done.

Nick Wissman picked up his second win of the weekend by throwing the final three inning, grabbing sole possession of the Atlantic 10 lead for wins this season with nine.
