Flyers Route Rams In Straight Sets

Redshirt Senior Lexie Almodovar Led The Way With 17 Kills

DAYTON - The No. 24-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team made it a weekend sweep of Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island on Saturday, taking down the Rams 25-12, 25-12, 25-15 inside the Frericks Center. 
 
The Flyers are now 12-1 on the 2024 campaign and are 2-0 in A-10 action. 
 
Dayton's defense stymied Rhode Island for a second time, holding URI to a negative attack percentage (-.027) for the second consecutive game.
 
While the Flyers once again had a balanced attack hitting an impressive .376, redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar stood out thanks to 17 kills and a .483 attack percentage.
 
Senior Alyssa Miller averaged 13 assists per set (36 total) and junior libero Karissa Kaminski was the only player to reach double-digits in digs with 12.

Dayton hits the road for week two of the Atlantic 10 season to take on VCU for a pair of matches on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.
