DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team returns home to take on Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at Baujan Field.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (8-3-2; 5-0-0) looks to keep its unbeaten start to Atlantic 10 play going on Saturday. A win would match the best conference start for the Flyers under head coach
Eric Golz, who also started 6-0 in 2022. Sophomore
Laney Smith, who was Co-Offensive Player of the Week last week, leads the team in points (4 goals, 1 assist) on the season. Keeper
Batoul Reda registered her NCAA-leading 10th shutout of the season.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
The Hawks (4-8-1; 1-4-0) split last week's A-10 matches, beating Davidson 3-0 and falling to Saint Louis, 5-0. Emily Hanrahan leads the team in points on the campaign thanks to five goals and a pair of assists, while Sarah Fisher has eight points thanks to a team-leading six assists. Keeper Peyton Radwanski has started the last four matches and has a 2.35 goals-against average on the campaign.
SERIES STUFF
Dayton has controlled the all-time series with Saint Joseph's over the years and won the last three meetings. The Hawks have not been to Baujan Field for a regular season game since the 2018 season, but did pay visit to the Gem City in 2023 for a matchup in the Atlantic 10 Championship. UD won that meeting 1-0 with a goal in the 87th minute.
