Kreusch Ties For Second, Team Finishes Third At Dayton Flyer Invitational

Freshman Fired A Career-Low Round of 65 On First 18

KETTERING, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's golf team closed out the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule with a third-place finish at the program's annual Flyer Invitational. Freshman T.J. Kreusch led the team, tying in second place out of the field of 81 after opening the invitational with a career-low round of 65 (-6).

Butler (288-283-296=867) and Illinois State (285-290-292=867) tied for first place in team standings at +15 while Miami (Ohio)'s Liam Nelson claimed medalist honors with his 54-hole total of 66-70-70=206 (-7). As a team, Dayton turned in a three-round score of 289-286-297=872 (+20).

"The team played really well," said head coach Gip Hoagland. "After the first nine hole today, we were right where we needed to be. The course got a little tough and we just made too many mistakes. They fought hard and hung in there, though. Really happy for T.J. tying for second place. Overall, we had a great tournament. Looking forward to getting the guys ready for the spring!"
