KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Dayton volleyball team defeated Rhode Island in straight sets Friday evening (25-11, 25-17, 25-14).
The Flyers took an early 13-5 lead in the first set and continued to outscore the Rams to win 25-11. Rhode Island kept the second set within two, but a six-point run with back-to-back aces by Viktoria Wahlgren gave Dayton a two-set lead. UD got out to a 10-point lead in the third set, extending its lead to 11 to win the match.
