The Regular Season Concludes With A Series At Rhode Island On Nov. 14-15

DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball team made a comeback, defeating VCU in five sets after dropping the first two (23-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 15-11).

Dayton led 23-21 in the first set before the Rams went on a four-point run to win the set. In the second set, UD was able to tie the set five times but never took a lead, giving VCU the two-set advantage.

The third set was a similar back-and-forth affair with 12 tie scores and three lead changes, before a VCU service error and a kill by Liana Sarkissian gave Dayton new life. After four straight aces by Kamryn Hunt early in the fourth set, the Flyers leveled the match at two apiece.

The Rams took a 3-1 lead to open the fifth frame before Dayton was able to string together a pair of three-point runs to push ahead to 10-7. Up 13-11, kills by Hunt ended the match, keeping UD's unbeaten streak alive.
