WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of Dayton redshirt freshman Malcolm Thomas has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Thomas scored a career-high 14 points against North Florida on Saturday night, shooting 7-for-8 (.875) from the floor, including four thunderous dunks. The forward also swatted a career-high four shots and had one rebound, one assist, and one turnover in just 13 minutes of action.
 
The Rookie of the Week nod is the first for the Flyers this season and the second weekly award overall. Junior De'Shayne Montgomery was named Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 24.
