DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball program returns home to host the University of Evansville Sunday, Dec. 21 for the final game before the Christmas Break. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. at UD Arena.Â
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton has battled through adversity this season and has a 6-5 record overall and 0-1 Atlantic 10 mark. The Flyers are 3-1 at home and coming off a road win Thursday night.Â
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her fourth season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.Â
The Flyers are averaging 65.1 points per game and allowing 66.8 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 43.2 percent overall, 31.0 percent from three point range, and 67.5 percent from the free throw line.Â

Nayo Lear with 15.7 points and 1.4 steals per game while junior
Fatima Ibrahim is chipping in 9.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks each outing.Â
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
EVANSVILLEÂ
Evansville comes to Dayton with a 2-9 record on the season and a four-game losing streak. The Purple Aces are looking for their first road win of the campaign, going 0-8 away from home so far.Â
Head coach Robyn Scherr is in her fifth year at Evansville after head coaching stops at Roosevelt and Davenport. She also previously served as an assistant on the Davidson staff for three years as well.
As a team, the Aces are scoring 60.5 points each contest and giving up 75.5 points to opposing squads. Evansville is averaging 34.4 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from behind the arc, and 68.9 percent from the charity stripe. UE faces -3.7 rebounding and -2.3 turnover margins.
The duo of Camryn Runner and Logan Luebbers Palmer are averaging 15.6 points and 13.4 points respectively while Elle Snyder is the top rebounder at 6.5 per game.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton remained on the road to take on Western Michigan Thursday and held on for a 65-58 win to move above .500. The Flyers jumped out to an early lead and fended off a late WMU rally thanks to 11 fourth-quarter points from
Nayo Lear.Â
Evansville most recently faced a common opponent for Dayton with a 77-67 defeat at Belmont Wednesday night. The Aces matched the Bruins and even led at halftime, but after getting outscored 22-8 in the third, Evansville came up short.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Evansville are meeting for the 17th time in program history with the series even at 8-8. The Flyers won the last showdown back on Dec. 15, 2018 at home, 69-30. Prior to that, the Aces had won eight of the last nine contests.Â

Dayton will head into the Christmas Break before opening up A-10 play once again on New Year's Eve at George Mason.Â
