LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Dayton volleyball team has received two American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Midwest Region selections, the AVCA announced Tuesday.
Kamryn Hunt was named to the Midwest Region's All-Region team. Liana Sarkissian earned a spot as an Honorable Mention.
This is Hunt's first All-Region selection after a standout first season with the Flyers. The reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year finished the season with a team-best 429 kills. Her 479 points and 4.52 points per set are good for No. 70 and 23 in the country, respectively. Hunt also earned All-Atlantic 10 First team and A-10 All-Academic team placements. The Sylvania, Ohio native was one of just two players to play in every set for the Flyers this season.
Sarkissian earned her second All-Region honor in her senior campaign. Her .391 attack percentage led the Atlantic 10, ranking No. 30 in Division I. The Greenwich, Conn. native also led the Flyers with 110 blocks. Sarkissian's 242 kills were also second on the team. Her other accolades this season include All-Atlantic 10 First and All-Academic team distinctions.
Hunt is eligible for selection to an AVCA All-America team, which will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
