GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Dayton baseball team fell by mercy rule in seven innings to No. 10-ranked Florida on Friday night, 13-1, in the opening game of a three-game series at Condron Ballpark.
The Flyers surrendered 13 runs on 10 hits, while smacking eight hits of their own but managing just one run.
Seven different UD batters managed to reach, with
Aiden Heberlie going 2-for-2 with a walk to lead the way.
Sophomore
Bennett LaPalm pitched a perfect inning, striking out all three Gators he faced.
