GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt sophomore
Bobby Stang homered, but it wasn't enough to help the University of Dayton baseball team upset No. 10-ranked Florida on Sunday, falling to the Gators 12-2, in eight innings at Condron Ballpark.
Stang's first home run as a Flyer was one of five hits on the day for the Flyers. Sophomore
Michael DiMartini hit a triple, and junior
Dyrenson Wouters doubled.
The FlyBoys plated the first run of the game when freshman
Rylan Lujo hit a sacrifice fly in the top half of the fourth inning that drove home DiMartini. Unfortunately, except for Stang's fifth-inning homer, it was all Gators from there, scoring 12 runs over the next five innings.
