DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team comes off bye week by traveling to the University of Rhode Island Saturday, Feb. 8 for a 1 p.m. tip-off in Atlantic 10 action.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton sits at 13-9 overall and 7-4 in A-10 play after a tough loss last outing against George Mason at home. The Flyers are 3-3 on the road this year and looking to get back on the winning track against the Rams.
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her third season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.
The Flyers are averaging 66.5 points per game and holding opponents to 64.4 points each outing. Dayton is shooting 42.6 percent overall, 32.4 percent from three point range, and 69.7 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +2.8 rebounding margin as well.

Arianna Smith with 12.5 points and 9.6 boards each contest. Grad transfers

Nicole Stephens have brought a veteran presence with 21 and 18 starts this year respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
RHODE ISLAND
Rhode Island holds a .500 record on the season with a 12-12 mark and is tied with Dayton at 7-4 in Atlantic 10 contests. The Rams are coming off a two-point win at home over Duquesne Wednesday and has a 7-4 record at the Ryan Center this season.
Head coach Tammi Reiss is in her sixth season with the Rams and is a two-time A-10 Coach of the Year.
As a team, Rhode Island is outscoring opposing squads by a 62.0 to 56.5 points per game margin. The Rams are shooting 40.0 percent from the field, 28.7 percent from behind the arc, and 66.8 percent from the charity stripe. URI leads the A-10 and ranks 17th in the nation with a +8.5 rebounding margin.
The Rams have a balanced offense with seven players averaging over 5.0 points per game. Honey Kaur leads the team with 12.6 points and 8.0 rebounds each outing while Sophie Phillips is chipping in 9.9 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Rams are meeting for the 35th time in program history with Dayton leading the series 27-7. Rhody has won the last two contests including last year's match-up in Dayton, 77-42.
UP NEXT
Dayton will host Davidson College on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. for the annual School Day game.
