Dayton (8-7) took on then-top-ranked Texas Monday afternoon, falling to the Longhorns 6-1 at Ohio State's Buckeye Field. The Dayton pitching staff combined to strike out eight Texas batters, the second-highest strikeout total for Texas this season. The Flyers' offense is led by senior
Emma Schutter (.358) with 19 hits - six for extra bases - 14 runs scored and six stolen bases while sophomore
Deirdre Flaherty (.348) has knocked in a team-best 10 RBI. Junior
Izzy Kemp (4-2) paces the UD pitching staff with a team-low 2.81 ERA to go with 56 strikeouts over 42.1 innings pitched.
SCOUTING STONEHILL
Stonehill (5-5) is playing the first of two games in southwest Ohio tonight at Miami (Ohio). The Skyhawks went 2-3 last weekend at the Bellarmine Invitational, picking up wins over Evansville and Bellarmine. Stonehill has three players that have started all 10 games this season, including Harper Sullivan (.250) who has seven hits, six RBI and five walks. In the circle, the Skyhawks have had a total of six put in work so far this season led by Lauren Donovan (1-0) with a 2.76 ERA in three appearances with one shut out and one save.

UP NEXT
This coming weekend will kick off the Atlantic 10 Conference portion of the Flyers' 2025 schedule as Dayton will play host to Saint Louis for a three-game set March 15-16. The pair will play two Saturday, getting underway at 12 p.m.
