DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team extended its winning streak to 11 matches on Friday with a 5-2 victory over Tennessee State.
The Flyers secured the doubles point by winning two of three matches. Freshman
Brady Hussey and sophomore
Kyle McNally edged out a tight 7-5 win, while junior
Sai Dore and freshman
Andreas Nygaard claimed a thrilling 7-6 (7-5) victory to clinch the point.
In singles play, Dayton dominated by winning four matches. Sophomore
Mikkel Zinder continued his impressive season with a commanding 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2. Dore and Hussey both secured straight-set victories at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Freshman
Kaia Mendibe cruised to a decisive win in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 on No. 5, to solidify Dayton's victory.
UP NEXT: Dayton will be on the road for the next match against Xavier on March 16
th at 6:00 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
