FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of Dayton baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to George Mason on Saturday, falling 8-0 and 11-5 in Atlantic 10 action at Sphuler Field.

GAME ONE
George Mason 8 Dayton 0
The Flyers could not get their offense rolling in the first game of the day, scattering just five hits and drawing one walk throughout the contest.

Peyton Malecha tossed a strong five innings on the mound, allowing just one earned run on three hits. Unfortunately, the bullpen could not keep the game within striking distance, as the Patriots plated four runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth.

Michael DiMartini had two of the Flyers' five hits in the first game.

GAME TWO
George Mason 11 Dayton 5
The Patriots jumped ahead early and never looked back, taking a 6-0 lead in the first two innings of the contest. Dayton got on the board with a two-spot in the third, but George Mason struck back with a three-run third and a two-run fourth.

Dayton added single runs in the fifth, eighth and ninth innings, but was never able to put up a crooked number against the Patriots after the third.

DiMartini had another two-hit showing, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while freshman
Rylan Lujo went 2-for-3 with an RBI and
Adin Zorn went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Dayton hits the road for a pair of games against Mid-American Conference opponents, traveling to "the Harvard on the Hocking" Ohio University on Tuesday, March 18 and then head to Bowling Green for a rematch with the Falcons on Wednesday, March 19.
