DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team took both games over Bradley on Sunday, March 2, completing its first sweep of the season with wins of 11-7 and 9-3 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

The Flyers and Braves had to finish the final three innings of the series' second game, which was suspended on Friday evening due to lack of light. Freshman
Michael Dudolski threw the final three innings for UD to register his first career save.

GAME ONE
Dayton 11, Bradley 7
After the Braves plated three in their first at-bat, the Flyers struck back with four of their own thanks to doubles by
Rylan Lujo and
Ryan MacDougall.
Bradley tied the score in the top of the third and Dayton snatched the lead right back thanks to a
Ty Mainolfi RBI double. The Braves jumped back in front with a two-run fourth to take a 6-5 lead.
The FlyBoys struck back with a vengeance over the next two innings, scoring three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. UD played small ball to score in the fifth, getting RBI singles from
Ty Mainolfi and
Michael DiMartini and an RBI groundout by
Aiden Heberlie.
Mason Dobie slugged a two-run homer and
Adin Zorn smacked an RBI double to plate three in the sixth.
Chris Peguero picked up his first win of the 2025 campaign, throwing 5.1 innings and striking out 10 while allowing just three runs. Completing action on Sunday,
Michael Dudolski came in to pitch the final three innings and get his first career save.Â

Dayton struck first off a
Ryan MacDougall RBI double in the first inning, then added another in the second when a fielder's choice by Howell drove in another.

In the bottom of the fourth,
Michael DiMartini sent a ball over the fence for a two-run home run, his fourth of the season to give the Flyers a 4-0 lead.Â

Starting pitcher
J.J. Gatti and the Flyers' defense held Bradley in check for the first four innings of work, not allowing a baserunner until the fifth. After a leadoff walk, the Braves recorded a two-out RBI double for their first hit to get on the board.Â

The Flyers kept the pressure on Bradley as
Aiden Heberlie ripped a line drive down the first base line for a triple in the bottom of the sixth. He was then brought home on a two-run triple by
Rylan Lujo to extend the Flyer advantage to 6-1.Â

Bradley scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but the FlyBoys struck back with two runs of their own thanks to a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.Â

Dayton pushed one more run across in the eighth on an RBI double from
Martin Howell.

Gatti earned his first win of the season, allowing just three hits and striking out seven through 6.1 innings, the longest outing of his career.Â
