DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team extended its winning streak with a 5-2 victory over Omaha in the first match of a doubleheader.
The Flyers secured the doubles point by winning two of three matches. Freshman
Sturle Skigelstrand and junior
Sai Dore edged out a 7-6 (3) thriller, while sophomore
Mikkel Zinder and freshman
Brady Hussey cruised to a 6-2 win.
In singles play, Dayton claimed four of six matches. Zinder continued his strong spring with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2, while Skigelstrand battled to a 7-5, 7-6 (4) victory at No. 4. Freshman
Alfons Ridstrom rallied for a 2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 win at No. 5, and
Kaia Mendibe sealed the Flyers' triumph with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory at No. 6.
