DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team came out on top of a slugfest with Atlantic 10-leading Davidson on Friday, winning the first game of the series over the Wildcats 18-17 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

The teams combined for 35 runs on 37 hits with 20 free passes (11 walks, nine hit-by-pitch) in the nearly four-hour-long affair.

Freshman
Rylan Lujo continued his recent hot streak, smashing two home runs and finishing the game with three hits, four RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore
Adin Zorn had his second five-hit performance of the season, while junior
Dyrenson Wouters and freshman
Ty Mainolfi both finished with three hits apiece. Mainolfi drove in a career-high four runs and also walked and scored a run.

In total, seven of nine FlyBoys had multi-hit performances, including senior
Mason Dobie launching a three-run homer for his 16th career dinger. Sophomore
Michael DiMartini had another two-hit performance, scoring two runs, driving in another and swiping a base.

Michael Dudolski picked up his second save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning, while sophomore
Bennett LaPalm picked up his team-leading fourth win of the season.
