The Flyers And Wildcats Combined For 95 Runs On 95 Hits This Weekend

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team split its doubleheader with Davidson on Saturday, dominating game one by a 21-4 final and coming up short in a third slugfest 22-13 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

GAME ONE
Dayton 21 Davidson 4
Junior Dyrenson Wouters set a new career-high with five hits to lead the Dayton offense, while redshirt sophomore Bobby Stang slugged a pair of homers and drove in six, while Mason Dobie added his third long ball of the season in addition to a three-hit performance. Dayton kept the momentum going in the third inning by adding two more runs to the scoreboard, then put the game out of reach with a six-run fourth.

Dobie joined the homer party by smashing a two-run blast in the fourth, while the other four runs in the frame came home via RBI walks from Lujo and Stang, a wild pitch and a run-scoring single from DiMartini.

The FlyBoys added solo runs in the fifth and sixth innings, then plated four more in the seventh thanks to Stang's second homer of the day and RBI singles from Alejandro Cazorla and Wouters.

UD finished the game with 20+ hits for the second consecutive game.
