DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team fell in a slugfest 16-14 at Northern Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.
Â
The FlyBoys jumped out to an early lead, scoring a run in the first on a sacrifice fly from
Mason Dobie and adding two more in the third on a
Ryan MacDougall home run.
Â
Bryant jumped back in front with a four-run fourth, but UD did not allow the lead to last long, striking back for four of its own in the home half of the frame.
Dyrenson Wouters drove in a run with a single,
Michael DiMartini knocked in a pair with a triple, and
Rylan Lujo drove in one more with an RBI single.
Â
The Bulldogs added a run in the top of the fifth, then took an 8-7 thanks to a three-run sixth. Dayton battled back once again, scoring a pair of runs thanks to bases loaded walks drawn by Dobie and
Adin Zorn.
