DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team started the weekend with a 6-1 Atlantic 10 victory over George Washington Friday evening at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

Chris Peguero was excellent for Dayton, throwing a season-best eight innings and only giving up one run while striking out six. Sophomore
Bennett LaPalm got the final three outs to secure the win for UD.
The Flyers got the offense going in the first inning after sophomore
Michael DiMartini scored on a fielder's choice from redshirt sophomore
Bobby Stang.Â

After GW evened the score in the fourth, UD recaptured the lead in the home half of the inning when junior
Dyrenson Wouters drove in a run on a fielder's choice to make the score 2-1.

Dayton struck for two more runs in the fifth thanks to RBI hits from Stang and sophomore
Adin Zorn, extending the Dayton lead to 4-1.
Wouters made it 5-1 an inning later with an RBI single and sophomore
Martin Howell drove in another insurance run for the Flyers in the eighth.

All nine Flyers had a hit in the game, with Zorn being the only one with a multi-hit performance going 2-for-3.
