#FlyBoys Sweep George Washington For Loiseau's 500th Career Win

UD Improves To 10-5 In Atlantic 10 Play With The Sweep

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team made it a second consecutive Atlantic 10 sweep with a 9-8 victory over George Washington in the series finale on Sunday at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

The win pushed UD to 20-18 on the season and 10-5 in A-10 play, and also gave Flyers first-year head coach Scott Loiseau his 500th career victory.

Dayton jumped ahead early thanks to the home run ball, as sophomore Ryan MacDougall hit a two-run first-inning homer to put the FlyBoys ahead, and freshman Rylan Lujo followed an inning later with a grand slam to give UD a 6-0 advantage.

Just an inning later, sophomore Martin Howell launched the Flyers' third home run in as many innings, hitting a two-run blast over the left field wall to make it an 8-0 game.

GW battled back, but ultimately a two-out RBI single from freshman Alejandro Sardinas in the fifth inning proved to be the game-winner.

Freshman Lukasz Rondeau picked up the win, striking out four in 2.1 innings of work, and sophomore Bennett LaPalm got his first save of the campaign by throwing the final three frames.
