BRONX, N.Y. – The University of Dayton baseball team's comeback efforts came up short in the ninth inning on Saturday afternoon, as the Flyers fell 6-4 to Fordham at Houlihan Park.

Trailing 6-2 going into the final frame,
Ryan MacDougall slugged his second home run of the day to get the rally started. After a
Dyrenson Wouters double and a single by
Ty Mainolfi,
Michael DiMartini lined his third hit of the day to centerfield to plate another.
After
Rylan Lujo singled to load the bases, the Rams went to the bullpen and got back-to-back strikeouts to fizzle the rally.
MacDougall slugged two homers on the day and finished 3-for-4, while DiMartini went 3-for-5 at the dish.
Mason Dobie hit his seventh home run of the season, and
Ty Mainolfi went 2-for-3 in the contest.
