Women’s Tennis Adds Four To 2025-26 Roster

The Flyers Bring On Caroline Boyle, Kristen “Christian” Chin, Mallory Hitchcock and Mary “Baby Jones” Jordan.

DAYTON – University of Dayton women's tennis head coach Erica Echko has announced this year's incoming class.

"I am thrilled with the recruits I signed for the 2025-2026 school year. There has not been this much talent in a class since Marlys Bridgham and the Kawamoto twins came to UD in the 2014-2015 class," said Echko. "I see this whole group meshing well with our returning All-Conference Selection Natalie Osiecki and our team voted MVP Haley Klein. I'm excited for a new year and lots of new blood to help raise the level of intensity at practice. This is a competitive group, and I see an exciting year ahead."

Boyle is a Hamilton, Ohio native who played No. 1 singles as a member of her varsity tennis team and was the Greater Catholic League Player of the Year for three consecutive years. Boyle was also an Ohio High School Athletics Association singles quarter finalist in 2022 and 2024, taking home fourth place in 2023.

"I can't wait for Caroline to join our squad. She brings a much-needed left to the team," said Echko. "Caroline is a three-star recruit with a high ceiling and is only improving as her results keep getting better."

From Buford, Ga., Chin attended school in Ojai, Calif. to play tennis, going 22-9, according to the Tennis Recruiting Network. The four-star recruit was also named No. 74 on the Tennis Recruiting Network's TennisRPI on June 20. Chin has an 8.44 Universal Tennis Rating in singles and an 8.57 doubles UTR.

"Kristen has traveled all over the country playing tournaments. She will be another great addition onto the team and I expect will make an immediate improvement in our doubles and singles lineup," said. Echko. "She is competing in money tournaments all over the country. Mattea Kilstofte competed in those tournaments, and it really prepared her for college tennis."

Hitchcock was born in Dayton and lives in Eaton, Ohio. She was a two-time state champion in 2021 and 2022. In her senior year, she earned third place in OHSAA singles. Hitchcock was also named First Team All-Southwestern Buckeye League and All-Ohio four times, including earning conference Player of the Year twice.

"Strategy is the key to her success, as her father John is the Eaton High School tennis coach and put together an absolute dynasty at Eaton, including our own Grace Murphy who is in her senior year," said Echko. "We are also thrilled for her to team up with Baby Jones in doubles. Doubles has always been something we work on as far as pairings. It will be great to see how the rest of the team competes against a duo who has a couple years already winning together."

Coming to the Gem City from Huntington, W. Va., Jordan was the Mountain State Athletic Conference and state champion in singles and team in 2025. She has had success with Hitchcock in doubles competition, playing together at the National United State Tennis Association juniors tournament circuit level. Jordan is a four-star recruit and ranked No. 226 in her class. She is also a second-generation college tennis player, as her mom played at Ole Miss.

"Baby Jones brings a great energy to our team. She is from Huntington and trained with the Mercers, the long-time Marshall coaches, so she'll be ready to compete at the D1 level no doubt," said Echko. "Baby knows how to win."
