DAYTON - University of Dayton's 25th-ranked men's soccer team will square off against Temple Thursday afternoon in the first match of Ohio State's Wolstein Classic. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and admission and parking is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
No. 25 Dayton (1-0-1, 0-0-0 A-10) opened the season with back-to-back shutouts, including a 4-0 win at then-20th-ranked Western Michigan on Sunday. Martin Bakken, the Flyers' top returning scorer, recorded the team's first goal of the season less than two minutes into the game against the Broncos. Sophomore Andrew Armstrong leads the team with nine shots while senior Ethan Sassine and freshman Mikkel Madsen each have three points.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
Temple (0-2-0, 0-0-0 AC) is coming off consecutive losses at home to start the season, 1-0 to St. John's and 4-0 to Delaware, and is looking to score its first goal of the year. Five different Owls have gotten off two shots, including Chase Jackson and Charlie Votel whose shots were both on goal.

The Flyers and Owls last squared off on Oct. 23, 2011, the pair's last matchup as conference foes. Dayton claimed the 1-0 win over Temple in Philadelphia.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton got in the win column on Sunday with a 4-0 victory at 20th-ranked Western Michigan. Four different Flyers scored in the match, including junior Martin Bakken who netted what proved to be the game winner less than two minutes after kickoff, and three added assists. The Flyers were led by sophomore Andrew Armstrong with five shots, senior Gavin Krenecki with a Dayton-career-high five saves and freshman Mikkel Madsen who scored his first career goal and dished out his first career assist.

In the NCAA's final 2024 Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on Dec. 16, Dayton ranked 11th according to NCAA.com. Temple came in at 116.
