DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball team will host Loyola Chicago this weekend for two matches at the Frericks Center on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m.  

Friday night's match will be Alumnae Night with a white-out theme. In addition, there will be a hat giveaway during the match. Saturday's match will welcome area youth to the Frericks Center.

Both matches will be live on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE FLYERS
The Flyers enter this weekend's matches with an 8-1 record in Atlantic 10 conference play, and a 16-6 overall record. The team is riding a two-game win streak after back-to-back victories over George Washington last weekend. 

Senior Kamryn Hunt remains a force for Flyer volleyball, tallying 27 kills across last weekend's matches. Hunt continues to lead Dayton in kills with 255 total. Not far behind is freshman Sidney Sprada, who tallied 25 kills last weekend, with a season total of 163. 

On the defensive end, fifth-year Rylee Sloss tallied 12 digs against George Washington. This brings her season total to 149 digs, second to the team high of 204 by Hunt. Senior Lily Barry got up 15 passes in Friday's match against GW for a total of 142 digs on the season. Junior Abigail Cresse and sophomore Charlotte Vinson have been on fire with blocks this season, with Cresse totaling 73 and Vinson with 64.  

ABOUT LOYOLA CHICAGO 
The Ramblers arrive at Frericks with a 7-2 record in conference play, and an overall record of 10-9. Prior to their loss against Davidson last Saturday, the team was on a seven-game win streak with wins over three A10 teams: Rhode Island, Saint Louis and VCU. 

Sophomore Leyna Nguyen tallied 29 kills in the team's matches against Davidson last weekend and leads the Ramblers in kills with a season total of 264. Katie Scherer, who tallied 17 kills last weekend, is second on the team with 192 total kills in the 2026 season. Nguyen is also a leader defensively as third on the team with 152 digs. 

The Flyers and Ramblers have matched up a total of 30 times, with a record of 13-17 in favor of Loyola Chicago. The teams last faced off in 2025, when the Flyers swept the Ramblers in two matches that season. 

UP NEXT 
The Flyers will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. next week to face Duquesne University on October 27 at 5:00 p.m. in the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
