DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team upended Toledo with an 18-8 win on Tuesday evening, ending the game in seven innings.
Up 4-0, home runs to right field by Danny MacDougall and Martin Howell extended the Flyers' lead to nine runs.
Toledo got onto the board in the third inning, cutting Dayton's lead to 9-3. In the fourth, Colin Lynch and Grayson Carpenter doubled to make it an 11-3 game, pulling ahead by 10 in the fifth.
The Rockets narrowed the score to 15-8, but the FlyBoys regained the 10-run lead thanks to the bats of Lynch and Bobby Stang.
Will Perkowski earned the win in his first career start.

Dayton will face Ohio for four games on Feb. 27-March 1. The first two games will be played in Athens, Ohio, with the remaining two games being played in a doubleheader on March 1.
