#UDMTEN Welcomes IU Indy And Eastern Kentucky This Weekend

Both Matches Will Begin After Women’s Tennis

DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team is back in action at home with a pair of matches this weekend.

UD will take on IU Indy and Eastern Kentucky, hosting the Jaguars at 4 p.m. Friday and the Colonels at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both matches will take place after women's tennis matches.

Dayton faces a short turnaround after a close 4-3 loss to Louisville on Wednesday. The Flyers won the doubles point, winning against ranked opponents. In singles play, Kyle McNally and Kaia Mendibe won singles matches, keeping the match close.

IU Indy is 1-5 this season, splitting matches against North Dakota and Toledo last weekend. The Jaguars defeated North Dakota 4-3, getting swept by Toledo 7-0.

The Flyers met IU Indy in the James O'Connell Memorial Tournament back in September and have a long history of playing the Jaguars in the dual season. Dayton leads the series 13-5 against IU Indy. In last year's dual match, UD won 6-1, sweeping singles.

Eastern Kentucky is 4-5 this season and will host James Madison and Xavier on Saturday before taking on Dayton. Four players for the Colonels all currently have three singles wins this season. Three players each have three doubles wins, as well.

Dayton has won the last three matchups against EKU but is 4-6 overall against EKU. The Flyers won 4-1 back in 2023.

UD will host Cleveland State on Feb. 14 and face Butler at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Feb. 15.
