MIAMI, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team came up short against the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks on Wednesday afternoon, falling 13-7.
Dayton struck first, scoring on a wild pitch in the second.
In the fifth, the FlyBoys started a four-run inning with a hit by pitch for Michael Smith Jr. Bobby Stang hit a double down the left field line, allowing three runs to come home and cutting the RedHawks' lead to 9-5.
After Miami pulled ahead, Dyrenson Wouters reached on a fielder's choice, bringing home Colin Lynch. Ryan MacDougall singled through the right side, making it a 13-7 game.
