DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team came up short against VCU in the second game of the series, forcing the game to extra innings before falling 5-2.
The FlyBoys opened the game with a 1-0 lead off a single by Colin Lynch.
Trailing 2-1 into the eighth, Dayton tied the game on an error by the Rams.
In the top of the tenth inning, VCU broke the tie with a two-run home run to left field. The Rams added another run for a 5-2 score.
