DAVIDSON, N.C. – On the heels of last night's 20-4 win, the University of Dayton baseball team came up short against Davidson, falling 9-7.
Davidson scored all nine runs in the first four innings of the game, in large part due to a two-run home run in the first and a three-run home run in the second.
In the seventh inning, Michael Smith Jr. reached on a Wildcats' error, allowing Danny MacDougall and Aiden Heberlie to cross the plate.
Dyrenson Wouters hit a double down the left field line in the eighth inning, making the score 9-3.
In their last at-bats, Colin Lynch singled up the middle for an RBI. With Lynch and Smith Jr. on, Jason Bello homered to keep the game within two.
