DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team suffered a second close loss to Saint Joseph's, coming up short 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.
Dyrenson Wouters scored first for Dayton off an RBI single from Grayson Carpenter in the second inning, tying the game at one apiece.
In the following inning, Bobby Stang made it home courtesy of a double to left center by Wouters.
The Hawks took a 5-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. Colin Lynch had RBI doubles in both the seventh and ninth innings, cutting the lead to one with a 5-4 ball game.
