DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team came up short against Bellarmine on Tuesday afternoon, 8-6.
Dyrenson Wouters kicked off scoring in the bottom of the second, hitting a two-run home run into left field.
After Bellarmine tied in the game in the third, Jason Bello hit a bomb into left center in the fourth inning, allowing two to score and taking a 5-2 lead.
The Knights tallied a combined five runs in the seventh and eighth innings, pulling ahead 7-5. Bobby Stang made it a one-run game with a solo shot to left center, but Bellarmine added an insurance run in the ninth for an 8-6 final score.
