DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will close out the 2026 regular season this weekend at home with a three-game Atlantic 10 series against Saint Joseph's. The Flyers and Hawks will get underway on Friday with a single game at 3 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.

Dayton (22-21, 11-10 A-10) stepped out of conference play last weekend, dropping a doubleheader at Pitt on Saturday. The Flyers bounced back with a 4-0 win over the RedHawks of Miami (Ohio) at home on Tuesday. The Flyers' offense is paced by junior
Deirdre Flaherty (.374) with 33 RBI and nine doubles while junior
Kirnan Bailey (.355) has a team-best 50 hits, 36 runs and 39 stolen bases (1st NCAA). Bailey's 0.91 stolen bases per game ranks second nationally. Senior
Izzy Kemp (14-7) carries the team's low ERA of 2.14 (40th NCAA) with 237 strikeouts (3rd NCAA) and eight complete games over 134.1 innings pitched. Her 12.3 strikeouts per seven innings ranks second nationally.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
Saint Joseph's (23-21, 12-9 A-10) is coming off a 1-2 conference series loss at Fordham last weekend and the Hawks enter the weekend in third place in league standings. Meghan Sinkus (.333) leads four players hitting above .300 to go with 43 hits and 21 stolen bases while Julia Shearer (.320) has 38 RBI, 19 walks and 10 doubles. In the circle, Taylor Trowbridge (6-5) leads the pitching corps with a 2.57 ERA and seven complete games over 84.1 innings of work while Shearer has recorded a team-high 63 strikeouts.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on April 29, Dayton ranked 198 according to NCAA.com. Saint Joseph's came in at 165.Â
UP NEXT
Following the completion of this weekend's Atlantic 10 Conference games, Dayton will learn its seed for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. The four-game tournament, hosted by Saint Louis, will take place at Billiken Sports Center May 6-9 in St. Louis.
