DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team came up short in Sunday's game against Fordham, falling 5-4 to the Rams.
The FlyBoys struck first, scoring in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Colin Lynch.
After the Rams pulled ahead 2-1 in the fourth, Mike Lucarelli hit a home run near the right foul pole to make it a tie game.
Fordham regained the lead in the fifth inning, adding on two insurance runs. In the bottom of the ninth, Ryan MacDougall hit a two-run home run to right field, making the score 5-4 before the Rams tallied the final out.
