DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will welcome IU Indy to town Tuesday for a single game at UD Softball Stadium. First pitch between the Flyers and Jaguars is set for 3:05 p.m. and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (17-14) is coming off its fourth Atlantic 10 Conference series win after two out of three at Rhode Island last weekend. The Flyers' offense is led by current A-10 Player of the Week junior Deirdre Flaherty with a .386 average and 25 RBI while junior Kirnan Bailey (.340) has collected a team-best 35 hits, 26 runs and 29 stolen bases (3rd NCAA). In the circle, senior Izzy Kemp (11-3) holds the team's low ERA of 1.53 (16th NCAA) with 180 strikeouts (3rd NCAA) over 100.1 innings of work. Kemp's 12.6 strikeouts per seven innings ranks second nationally. NOTABLE: Kemp is 16 strikeouts away from setting a new Dayton career strikeouts record.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton closed out the week with an 8-2 win at Rhode Island on Saturday. Junior Deirdre Flaherty equaled her career high with three hits after going 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored and sophomore Kristin Gallego was one of two Flyers to send the ball over the fence (Flaherty), her first career home run. Senior Senior Izzy Kemp tallied 13 strikeouts over 6.1 innings in the circle, her second-consecutive and 11th overall double-digit game of the season.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on April 5, Dayton ranked 188 according to NCAA.com. IU Indy was ranked 283.

UP NEXT
St. Bonaventure will be in town this weekend for a three-game conference series at UD Softball Stadium. The Flyers and Bonnies will get underway Saturday at 12 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader.
