WASHINGTON - University of Dayton softball junior
Deirdre Flaherty has been named the Atlantic 10 Under Armour Softball Player of the Week.
George Mason sophomore Abbey Lane was named Pitcher of the Week, while George Mason freshman Bri Lencz earned Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced the awards on Tuesday for games played from March 30 to April 5.
Flaherty shined offensively for the Flyers last week, slashing .538/.600/.923 over four games. The catcher from Pittsburgh began the week with one hit and one run at Providence, before opening the team's conference series at Rhode Island with two hits in Friday's first game. Flaherty helped Dayton clinch the series on Saturday with a three-hit performance, recording four RBI and a home run.
