DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team looks to get back on the winning track as it welcomes the University of Louisville to Baujan Field on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Kentucky flexed its offensive muscles against the Flyers, winning in convincing fashion, 5-0.
UD created chances in the contest, taking 13 total shots including three on goal, but UK proved too much, totaling 20 shots with 11 on target. The Flyers finished the match with more corner kicks than the Wildcats, 9-6.
FAMILIAR FACES
Dayton junior
Lauryn Contini began her collegiate career in a Cardinal uniform, playing in 17 games, scoring a goal, and making seven starts as a freshman at UofL.
The Louisville sideline returns a familiar face as well, as former Flyer assistant Mitch Hepburn joined first-year head coach Hunter Norton in Derby City this season. Hepburn spent four seasons in the Gem City as a member of UD's staff.
AGAINST THE CARDINALS
Dayton holds a decisive 13-5-0 edge over Louisville all-time, but have only played one another five times in the last 10 years. The Cardinals have won three of those five, but the Flyers have won the last two.
MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME
Only one Flyer hails from the Commonwealth of Kentucky this season:
Laney Smith. The junior is a Fort Thomas, Ky. native, and has been a fixture in the Dayton lineup since stepping on campus as a freshman. Smith has been named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team in each of her first two seasons as a Flyer, while also earning All-Tournament team in 2025 and All-Rookie team.

FLYER LEGACY - 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING
2026 marks two milestones for the UD women's soccer program, most notably it is the 30th anniversary of the first championship in program history.
The 1996 Flyers, in just their second year in the Atlantic 10, defeated La Salle (3-1), Fordham (1-0), and Rhode Island (0-0, 5-4 PKs) to lead UD to its inaugural championship.
Fast forward to present day - no other A10 program matches Dayton when it comes to league titles, leading the conference in both regular season (12) and tournament championships (11).
It is also the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship, one of the most improbable titles in program history.
UD entered the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament as the No. 7 seed and proceeded to go on one of the most dominating runs to a championship the A10 has ever seen.
The Flyers defeated No. 2 Saint Louis 3-0 to open the tournament thanks to goals from Beth Kamphaus, Alexis Kiehl, and Libby Leedom. They then took down No. 6 seed George Washington with Kiehl adding two more goals, and then dominated No. 1 seed Saint Joseph's 7-0 in the championship final. Leedom had a hat trick in the final, while Kiehl added two goals, and Kamphaus and Micayla Livingston each had one.
