DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team is set host Detroit Mercy Friday night. Kickoff between the Flyers and Titans is set for 7:05 p.m. Aug. 28 at Baujan Field and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (1-1-0) claimed a 2-1 win over visiting Western Michigan Sunday night after sophomore Mikkel Madsen converted a PK in the 89th minute of the match to put the Flyers in front. Sophomore goalkeeper Santino Inkpen corralled a career-high four saves in his Flyer debut and senior Cooper Lijewski scored his first goal of the season less than two minutes into the game. UD was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll and placed three student-athletes on the 2026 Preseason All-Conference Team: defender Mikkel Madsen and midfielders Braden Seel and Miles Bonham.

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
Detroit Mercy (1-1-0) dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Adrian Monday night at Titan Field after the Bulldogs scored the game-winner in the 84th minute. Clayton Lafayette scored his first goal of the season and the Titans dominated in corner kick opportunities, 7-0, and outshot the Bulldogs 15-4 overall. Quinn Tews worked 90 minutes between the posts for UDM in Monday's loss. After last week's shutout win at St. Thomas, Johnny Strickler and Colin Monroe were named Under Armour® Horizon League Offensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week.

SERIES STUFF
Dayton leads, 9-1-2
Friday's match will be the third-consecutive season the Flyers and Titans have squared off. In the last meeting, Detroit Mercy battled then 12th-ranked Dayton to a 0-0 draw at Baujan Field on Aug. 21, 2025.

The Flyers' seven-match homestand continues on Monday when the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne come to Dayton. UD and PFW is set to get underway at 7:05 p.m. at Baujan Field Aug. 31 and admission is free.
