Women’s Soccer Bested By Louisville, 4-2

Junior Liv Grenda And Freshman Reese Gallagher Scored For UD

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team was bested by the University of Louisville 4-2 on Thursday night at Baujan Field.  
 
Despite scoring the first goal of the game on a Liv Grenda goal on a beautiful assist by Lauryn Contini, the Flyers fell behind thanks to four consecutive goals from the Cardinals. UD tried to rally late by scoring their second goal in the 75th minute when Reese Gallagher connected from long range.
 
Louisville evened the score in the 38th minute and then struck for three goals in a seven-minute span early in the second half.
 
Gallagher's goal was the first of her collegiate career, while the assist came from keeper Avery Strohecker.
 
The Cardinals outshot the Flyers 13-9 overall and 7-3 in shots on goal. UofL also had the advantage in corner kicks, 5-1.
