DAYTON — The University of Dayton volleyball team is back in action for the third week of the season as the Flyers travel to Tampa, Florida, for the South Florida Invitational Sept. 11-13 at The Corral. Dayton will face South Florida, TCU and Florida Atlantic across the three-match weekend.
Friday's match against South Florida will be live-streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE FLYERS
Following a competitive weekend at the Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational, the Flyers will look to bounce back as they take on South Florida, TCU and Florida Atlantic in the three-match invitational.
Dayton will look to build momentum behind senior Gabriela Machin Borges, who was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational.
The Flyers are also led by two key statistical contributors. Sidney Sprada leads the team with 90 kills, while Natalie Harrington has recorded 143 assists. Both will look to continue their strong individual performances as Dayton prepares for its next three matchups.
ABOUT SOUTH FLORIDA
The Flyers' first opponent of the invitational, South Florida, enters the weekend with a 1-4 record, including a win over Utah State.
South Florida opened the season with a competitive five-set match against Eastern Kentucky before falling short. Most recently, the Bulls traveled to Stanford, California, where they faced tough competition.
Amelia Wass de Czege was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. In just seven sets, she produced 12 blocks and set a team high of six blocks against No. 4 Stanford.Â
ABOUT TCU
TCU enters the week with a 3-2 record, highlighted by wins over No. 8 SMU and No. 14 Purdue. The victories propelled the Horned Frogs to No. 11 in the AVCA Top 25, a seven-spot rise.
Rosemary Archer, Becca Kelly, Alice Volpe and Kinsley Young each received recognition in the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Week awards.
The Horned Frogs are led by Becca Kelly with 64 kills and Rosemary Archer with 130 assists.
ABOUT FLORIDA ATLANTIC
Florida Atlantic enters the weekend with a 3-2 record and is coming off a two-match losing streak at the Sunshine State Classic.
The Owls are led by Maya van Heyst with 132 assists, Maggie Allred with 12.0 blocks and Sequoia Layne with 40 kills.

Following the South Florida Invitational, Dayton will compete in the Bowling Green/Toledo Invitational against Missouri, Bowling Green and Toledo on Sept. 18-19. The match against Missouri will be live on YouTube, while the Bowling Green and Toledo matches will be on ESPN+.
