CHICAGO – The University of Dayton women's soccer team played the majority of Sunday's match against Loyola Chicago a player down, but keeper Kasey Cannistraro's fourth consecutive shutout helped the Flyers leave town with a point after a 0-0 draw at Loyola Soccer Park.
 
UD (4-5-2, 1-0-2 A10) played a player down courtesy of first half red card sustained in the 36th minute. Despite the advantage, Loyola (4-2-4, 1-0-2 A10) was unable to produce any offense thanks to Dayton's stifling defense and stellar play in the midfield.
 
Cannistraro highlighted the defensive effort, stopping all four of the Ramblers shots. The Flyers' back line of Lauren Fields, Eva Schreiber, Bre Mendez and Caroline Schork stood tall against Loyola's attack.
 
With only 10 players, Dayton still managed seven shots in the second half, led by junior midfielder Liv Grenda who had three. The Flyers' three shots on goal came from Grenda, Olivia Baca and Lauryn Contini.
 
Both UD and Loyola finished the match with 10 shots, while the Ramblers held the advantage in both shots on goal (4-3) and corner kicks (4-2).

Dayton returns to Baujan Field for a Friday night showdown with La Salle at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2. The match is the Flyers' annual Alumnae Game, where UD will honor the program's first Atlantic 10 Championship from 1996.
