2011-12 Men's Basketball Roster
Biography
Josh Parker’s first season in a Flyer uniform, after transferring from Drake, gave Flyer fans a glimpse of what he is capable of: scoring points in a hurry. The senior guard has the ability to get hot and fire at will from the field. Against Fordham, Parker etched his name into the UD history book with a scorching 8-of-14 performance from beyond the arc. The eight threes made in a single-game are good enough to tie for second all-time in school history and were one shy of the single-game record.
Parker is a dynamic combo guard with an explosive first step and an excellent long range shooting touch. He also has made quite an impression on his teammates as he was named a captain prior to the 2010-2011 season. This leadership nod was made despite only being able to play in practice due to transfer rules.
Parker’s leadership and shooting touch will be counted on for the Flyers to have a successful 2011-2012 season.
2010-11
Josh Parker was the clear-cut sixth man for the Flyers during the 2010-2011 season. Usually the first man off the bench, Parker played in all 36 games, including two starts. At home against Fordham, Flyer fans witnessed one of the greatest displays of shooting from any particular player in UD history. Parker lit up the scoreboard as he went 8-of-14 from beyond the arc. Parker's performance is tied with Shawn Haughn for the second most three pointers, and only one behind Norm Grevey’s nine three pointers buried, for a single-game. He finished that game with a career-high 27 points. His previous career-high was 25 points when he played for Drake. Parker netted 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting from downtown and dished out five assists against Richmond. He tallied 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc and hauled in five rebounds at La Salle. In the first round of the A-10 tournament at UMass, Parker drained 3-of-5 three-pointers and finished with a total of 11 points.
