Biography
Cara Cornacchia, a co-captain this season, joins the Flyer coaching staff as a student assistant after being a part of the University of Dayton women's soccer program for the past four years.2009: Had a very productive season playing in every game, while making 13 starts... Scored a total of three goals, two of which came in consecutive games against conference opponents Temple (Sept. 25) and George Washington (Sept. 27)…. Dished out three assists finishing with a final point total of nine on the year… Performed well in the clutch in the A-10 Tournament and was rewarded by being named the Most Outstanding Player of the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship...named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week after that stellar performance.2008: Played in 14 games and earned a start in Dayton's 3-0 win against Xavier (Oct. 5)...Scored the game-winning, golden goal 15 seconds after coming off the bench in the Flyers' stunning overtime win against Wright State (Sept. 19)...Also had an assist in a 4-0 win against St. Bonaventure...Of her four shots, three were on target for a .750 shot on goal percentage.2007: Started in eight games, appeared in 19 for the Flyers...Scored one goal and it came against Oakland University (Sept. 23)...Had six shots on goal.2006: Appeared in one game for the Flyers, playing a total of 10 minutes ... Missed most of the season due to an ACL tear. Prior to UD: Member of the Ontario Provincial Team since 2000, which was the U16 National Champions...Part of the National Training program since 2002, with invitations to join the national camp in training in Florida, Peru, Saskatchewan, Vancouver and Michigan...Her club team, the Dixie 88s is currently ranked No. 1.
