2011 (Sophomore): Played 20 games, starting seven ... Registered 10 hits in 38 at-bats for a .263 batting average ... Primarily served as a pinch hitter and designated hitter … Had a string of four consecutive starts in the outfield … Health was not 100 percent due to injury.

2010 (RS-Freshman): Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team ... Named UD’s Most Improved Player and Best Practice Player ... Started 51 games – 45 in left field and six as the designate hitter ... Led all UD starters with a .412 on-base percentage ... Started 40 games as the leadoff in the batting order ... Joined Brian Blasik and Cole Tyrell as Flyers who went  hitless in back-to-back games just once in over 50 games started ... Recorded a .297 batting average with 12 doubles and 27 RBI ... Drew a team-best 26 walks with Cole Tyrell ... Named A-10 Rookie of the Week after amassing seven RBI, four runs scored, and his first career homerun on 5-of-9 hitting in a doubleheader against Xavier (5/1) ... Had 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games ... Maintained the third-longest hitting streak on the team at nine games ... Went 4-for-5 with a career-high five runs scored with three RBI at Temple (4/2) during his nine-game hitting streak ... 3-for-6 with three RBI and four runs scored against Massachusetts (5/8) ... Personal: Born on March 11, 1990 to parents John and Judy Gayda ... Youngest of one brother, Jon, and two sisters, Jessica and Jackie ... Civil engineering major, plans to become a Navy Civil Engineering Corps officer after graduation ... Sister Jackie Gayda-Haas and brother-in-law Charlie Haas are former professional wrestlers for WWE.
