2011 (Junior): Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference as a starting pitcher … Recorded 88 strikeouts – second-most in Dayton history behind Cameron Hobson (105) … Ended season with 248 career strikeouts – second-most in Dayton history behind teammate Hobson (256) … Team-best 2.07 ERA … Tied for the team lead in innings pitched (104 1/3), which became the fourth-most in a single-season in program history ... Made 12 starts and 21 total appearances ... 8-2 record for the season with three complete games ... Recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts against Rhode Island (5/19) in an eight-inning complete-game victory, 13-2 ... Was the winning pitcher in eight of his last 10 appearances, including winning his last six consecutive starts of the regular season … Dayton won all regular season conference games which Mitchem started on the mound (8-0) … Recorded a 2.34 ERA and 56 strikeouts with a 7-0 record during conference play … All three of his complete games were against A-10 opposition … Started season as the Flyers’ closer, earning three saves … Pitched 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief with two strikeouts at Wofford (2/27) to preserve UD’s 6-5 win … Played summer ball with the Saint Cloud River bats of the Northwoods League. 

2010 (RS-Sophomore): Made 16 appearances with 15 starts on the mound ... Set a program record for single-season strikeouts with 86, breaking teammate Cameron Hobson’s record of 83 from the year before ... 6-7 record with a 6.29 ERA ... Had at least one strikeout in every appearance ... Recorded five or more strikeouts in 12 appearances ... Had the best strikeout-to-walk ratio on the team with 3.4 strikeouts per walk; just 25 total walks ... Season-high of nine strikeouts was established in last outing of the season at Saint Louis (5/21) in 6 1/3 innings ... Had two eight-inning outings ... Earned first win of the season against Indiana State (3/12) with six strikeouts, no walks and two earned runs through eight innings ...  Went eight innings to earn a win against George Washington (4/9) with six strikeouts ... Eight strikeouts in six innings against Canisius (3/19) ... Pitched 22 1/3 innings for the Orleans Cardinals in the Cape Cod League with a 3-1 record, 25 strikeouts and a 2.41 regular season ERA. 

2009 (Sophomore): Granted a medical redshirt after a season-ending injury ... Finished an abbreviated season with a 1-0 record, 1.62 ERA and 13 strikeouts through three starts 16 innings pitched ... Held opponents to a .170 batting average ... Made first career start on the mound at High Point (2/20), throwing seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts ... Named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week (3/2) after throwing eight scoreless innings with six strikeouts against Creighton (2/27), guiding UD to a 3-1 victory in Phoenix, Ariz. ... Did not allow a run in his first two starts ... Exited the Cleveland State (3/6) game after 1 1/3 innings with a season-ending injury ... Slated to pitch in the summer for the Cape Cod League (Orleans Cardinals) prior to aforementioned injury. 

2008 (Freshman): Appeared in 22 games out of the bullpen ... Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team ... Ping! Freshman All-America Team ... Finished with a team-best 2.06 ERA in 39 1/3 innings ... Held opponents to a batting average of .242 ... Finished second on the team in strikeouts (61) ... Held the second-best strikeout-to-walk ratio on the team with 4.4 strikeouts per walk ... Led the team with four saves ... Gave up the fewest earned runs (9) on the team ... Had a 0.47 ERA at home ... Finished with a 5-2 record – winning five conference games which tied for most on the team ... Struck out nine of 15 batters in 3 1/3 innings pitched to hold Duquesne (5/16) at bay for the 11-10 victory ... Earned first career save after throwing a scoreless ninth inning to cap off a 5-4 victory against Bradley (3/10) ... In summer ball, earned Great Lakes League Player of the Week honors (7/15) after pitching a no-hitter for eight innings in an 8-0 win with the Columbus All-Americans.

High School: All-state pitcher for Farmington High School under Head Coach Peter Finn ... Holds three single-season pitching records at Farmington for innings pitched in 2007 (68 2/3), wins in 2006 and 2007 (8), and ERA in 2007 (0.77) ... Also finished his senior season with 107 strikeouts ... Led the Falcons to the 2007 MHSAA Division 1 State Finals as the winning pitcher in the State Semifinals – going seven innings with eight strikeouts and no earned runs against Grandvile (6/15/07) ... Named to the 2007 Division 1 All-State First Team and 2007 Dream Team (all-state for all divisions) as a pitcher by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association ... 2006 Division 1 All-State Second Team selection by the MHSBCA.
