2008-09 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and Honorable Mention Justine Raterman had easily one of the best seasons of any Flyer freshman in over a decade starting 34 of 35 games. Raterman was a nine-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and led UD with nine double-doubles on the season (fourth in the A-10). Raterman ranked third in rebounding and 10th in scoring nationally among all Division I freshmen. Raterman led UD in scoring (13.1 ppg), rebounding (8.5 rpg), field goal percentage (.459), and three-point field goal percentage (.395). She finished second on the team in steals (0.9 spg). She is one of only three players to rank in the top 10 in both scoring and rebounding in the Atlantic 10. She is ninth in scoring and fourth in rebounding. She was named to the A-10 All-Championship team after leading UD during the league tournament with an average of 14.7 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game during the tournament. She scored a game-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field including 6-of-7 shooting from the line in the defeat of Saint Louis in the first round. The Versailles, Ohio native tallied her eighth double-double of the season to lead UD past the nationally-ranked Xavier Musketeers in the quarterfinals. Raterman tallied 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Competing against nationally-ranked Old Dominion on Nov. 25, Raterman scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Of the 27 points she scored, 16 came in the first half alone. She finished the game 11-of-21 from the floor. During the Buckeye Classic Tournament, Raterman averaged 17.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, and 2.5 bpg on the weekend to be named to the All-Tournament Team. On Dec. 10, she recorded a career-best 16 rebounds which put her in a tie for first place for the most rebounds in a game by a UD freshman. Versus Loyola Chicago she went 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, 8-of-11 from the field, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line recording 24 points. She has scored in double-figures 22 times and grabbed double-digit rebounds 13 times. In conference play, she averaged a team-best 12.5 ppg and 6.9 rpg. She also led in field goal percentage hitting 45 percent of her shots from the floor (58-of-127). Raterman finished fourth all-time in most points in a season by a freshman at UD. She finished second all-time in most rebounds in a season by a freshman at UD. In addition, she is in the record books in free throws attempted (5th, 105), free throw accuracy (4th, .743), three-pointers attempted (1st, 119), three-point accuracy (2nd, .395), blocks (T-3rd, 21), and minutes played (1st, 32.4).

Justine is the daughter of Jim and Karen Raterman... She has two sisters (Jacki, age 31, and Julie, age 26) and one brother (Joe, age 27)...She is an AYA Math Education major and plans to become a high school math teacher...Born on July 6, 1990.
