Keith Hopkins

Keith Hopkins joined the women's track & field/cross country program coaching staff as an assistant coach in July of 2016. He oversees the multi-, jumps, sprints and hurdle student-athletes. 
 
Hopkins comes to UD after two seasons at Indiana State where he was responsible for the daily training of sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers, as well as serving as the assistant eligibility monitor. He coached All-American hurdler Adarius Washington and All-American sprinter Katie Wise while with the Sycamores.  
 
Prior to his work at Indiana State, Hopkins was an assistant coach at Baker University for two years where he worked with the sprinters, hurdlers and multi-event athletes. Under his guidance, several student-athletes earned conference championships and seven earned All-American honors.
 
Hopkins was a highly decorated hurdler at Purdue University. He was a three-time NCAA national qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 13.59 seconds, which is second all-time at Purdue. He also qualified twice for the indoor NCAA national championships in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best of 7.79 seconds. Hopkins was a 2008 member of the Olympic Trials in the 110-meter high hurdles.
 
He graduated from Purdue in 2010 with a degree in psychology and American Sign Language, with a minor in organizational leadership and supervision.
 
Hopkins earned his master's in sociology from Baker University in 2012 and a second master's degree from Indiana State in 2015 in coaching/physical education.
 
Hopkins is a certified USATF Level 2 Coach in the combined events, USTFCCCA certified in the jumps and strength and conditioning, and is USA weightlifting sports performance certified.
